Cups Gels

By admin

Hi fish people, current on live aquarium plants?

I have a question about getting new plants for an aquarium.
When you buy the plants, they are in those gel cups. They tell you for aquariums take them out of the gel cups, but for a terrarium leave them in the gel. Please tell me why that is, I would like to leave them in the cups, because it would be easier to plant in the aquarium, but I have been doing what they say. Oh please answer expert plant people.

I agree with the person above me. Not to sound rude.
But my idea is that the gel is going to decompose with water. I have bought them before and once I've gotten the plant out I leave the gel to just sit there with water so I can clean it and recycle the plastic :P the gel gets worse. If you put this bad gel on the water is only going to spread around the tank like little ugh-balls hurting the fishes since the water is practically going through their bodies...
who knows what the gel is made out of as well. Ask the pet shop person. They should tell you why in a more reliable answer.
